Carl Perkins: Seed to STEM

November 8 - 9, 2018
at Sublette High School Science Lab
501 Ellis St, Sublette, KS

Kansas Corn works to build the future of corn by providing educational Kansas corn materials to 6-12 teachers.

Seed to STEM is Kansas Corn’s innovative STEM-based program for middle and high school science educators. The Kansas Corn Commission (KCC) invests in the future by providing online curriculum as well as summer workshops and lab supplies for science teachers.

Our goal is to help teachers bring lessons based on biotechnology and ethanol to the classroom.
Seed to STEM was created recognizing the connection between science and agriculture and the need for tomorrow’s scientists to have greater ag literacy and awareness of careers in the industry.

The workshop includes a farm and field visit, an industry dinner and a field trip to an ethanol plant.
In addition every teacher will receive $500 worth of free lab resources* after completing two-day training.

* Participants must attend both full days to receive the free lab resources.

Registration is limited to the first 20 High School teachers from Carl Perkins consortium districts.
