Adaptive Schools

Adaptive Schools® offers a productive, practical set of tools for developing collaborative teams. We must seek out new ways of conducting the important work of teaching and learning. Adaptive Schools® provides a growth mindset to successfully accomplish this task. Adaptive Schools® is changing the ways schools do business. Whether in a staff meeting, a coaching session, or in the classroom, this process will maximize your ability to facilitate groups and lead teams to function at full capacity.

Interwoven within the four days of content are 50+ engagement strategies for presentation, facilitation, and classroom use.  The time is now. Be solution-focused. Get results. Achieve goals. Move forward.  Adaptive Schools® is the answer.


Day 1: Collaborative Conversations

Participants will have:

  • An understanding of research findings regarding professional community in schools
  • An understanding of the WHAT, WHY, and HOW of becoming adaptive
  • Structures and processes for collaborative conversations

Day 2: Team Capabilities

Participants will have:

  • An understanding of the goal of Adaptive Schools
  • An extended repertoire of facilitation strategies
  • An understanding of four group member capabilities
  • An understanding of the Seven Norms of Collaboration
  • Increased skills with authentic paraphrasing

Day 3: Meeting Structures & Standards

Participants will have:

  • A framing of meetings as learning opportunities
  • Structures for successful meetings
  • An understanding of how to integrate Norms of Collaboration in meetings
  • Increased skills posing mediative questions

Day 4: Moving Forward

Participants will have:

  • Structures and standards for successful meetings
  • Perspectives and tools for discussion
  • Tools, concepts, and strategies to transfer from workshop to work place

*plus $44/person for manual.  
A minimum of 15 participants are required for this workshop to be held.

College Credit Available: 0.5 credit hours ($45 payable to MidAmerica Nazarene) per day
